The Leading Gentlemen

Ransom

Ransom

Heritage-Song King's Ransom, known as Ransom, was a 2017 buckling from Heritage Song Nubians.  He's got the longest ears I've ever seen on a Nubian. I have really admired the Heritage Song goats for their refinement and gorgeous udders ever since I got into goats, and so when I got the opportunity to snap up this fellow, I jumped on it as fast as I could.  He has matured into an extremely handsome buck, tall and elegant, with an extremely sweet temperament, even during rut.  While all my bucks have been nice lads, he's also been the easiest to handle and most laid-back of the boys I have had. I hope his offspring will benefit from improved conformation and that he will pass on his sweet, gentle nature and those gorgeous ears.  It certainly looks promising so far, but I haven't had the opportunity to see a mature udder from one of his girls yet.

Everest

Tanglebriar Everest, known as Everest, is the son of Rocket Science and Parian.  He has grown up into a nice sturdy fellow, who reminds me a great deal of his sire with the pompadour and his funny faces.  He is a sweet, lovable fool, who doesn't have a thought in his big round head except blubbering and posing for the ladies.  He passes on high production alpha a1 casein alleles to his progeny, courtesy of both of his parents.  I hope to see improved milk production from his father's side, and nice, level lactation curves from his mother.  I'm also seeing really great temperaments and refined necks in his offspring, which I'm very pleased with.

Retired and Remembered

Foxtrot

Foxtrot

Tanglebriar Foxtrot, known as Foxtrot or Foxy, was the son of Rocket Science and Reason.  He passed on high production alleles to his kids.  Foxtrot lost his voice on first rut by singing to the ladies so much (who are largely unimpressed), carrying on the strong Casanova tendencies of his sire, Rocket. I think Foxy was lightly moonspotted, but it's quite hard to tell from his coloring, which was a pale fawn.  Foxy also had a very silly high pitched voice: the highest of all the goats.  I have no idea where it came from; his mother, Reason, had the deepest voice of all my goats.  Foxtrot had a lot of the problem solving skills of his aunt, Fancy, and was quite a clever lad for a buck.  He was the sire of Velvet, who was the first of the Tanglebriar successor does.

Rocket Science

Rocket

*B Windsong Farm Rocket Science, known as Rocket Science,as a sweet fellow who was extremely people oriented, and was homozygous A/A on parentage for the alpha s1 casein gene, which correlates to high cheese production, and he passed on his copy of that gene to all of his offspring. I purchased him as a 2017 buckling from Windsong Farm in Missouri, who breeds for high production and milk quality that is some of the best in the region.  Rocket came from a long line of really excellent milk producers (his dam, Six M Galaxy Sue's Truly Enya, was a 3x ADGA Elite Doe) .  He is developed into a robust, sturdy fellow, with good body capacity and nice feet.  He was a bit of a fool during breeding season, but his enthusiasm on that subject produced some nice kids in 2018, leaving us with his sons, Tanglebriar Foxtrot and Tanglebriar Everest, who produced our first two Tanglebriar successor does, leaving his excellent genetics temperament to future generations.
